A Framework for Intentional Living
The Studio Lee Method
The method
Your home is more than a place. Your home is an ecosystem that shapes how you feel and function daily. The Studio Lee Method blends organic modern design principles and healthy living strategies backed by decades of my own personal and professional experience.
We believe in designing homes that work with your life, not against it—spaces that feel good, function beautifully, and make everyday living just a little better.
Core Principals
Bring the Outside In
Designing with nature is about creating spaces that feel good, function effortlessly, and support your well-being. Sunlight, fresh air, organic textures—these aren’t luxuries; they’re essentials. So before you bring something into your space (or your life), ask yourself: Would Mother Nature approve? If the answer is no, maybe that neon-green shag rug needs a second thought.
-
Use natural materials (wood, stone, linen) for warmth and grounding
Maximize natural light to create an open, airy feel.
Incorporate earth tones and textures for an organic, layered aesthetic
Use plants and organic elements to balance hard materials
-
Start mornings with sunlight to regulate circadian rhythm
Get fresh air daily—open windows, step outside, reset
Eat whole, unprocessed foods that are as close to nature as possible
Prioritize movement outdoors (walks, hikes, grounding in nature)
Layer It Up
Your space and your life fall flat without contrast. Too much of the same feels one-dimensional, whether it’s an all-beige room or an all-work-no-play lifestyle. The fix? Layer it up. Mix textures, play with contrast, and create depth. The same rule applies beyond design. Balance work with rest, the digital with the tactile, indulgence with discipline.
-
Mix matte and gloss, rough and smooth for a high-end look
Layer neutral tones with depth (warm vs. cool undertones)
Use contrast to create visual interest (light/dark, soft/hard, new/vintage)
Add tactile elements—woven fabrics, stone, aged wood
-
Balance work and rest—life shouldn’t feel one-dimensional
Create rituals that contrast the digital world (hands-on hobbies, reading, cooking)
Prioritize sensory experiences—scents, textures, and sounds that enhance daily life
Balance indulgence and discipline (flexibility without chaos)
Curate with Intention
A cluttered home, a cluttered mind. If it doesn’t earn its keep—whether it’s a piece of decor, a commitment on your calendar, or a habit in your routine—it’s just taking up space. Everything in your home (and your life) should have a purpose, whether it’s functional, sentimental, or simply beautiful. If it doesn’t add value, maybe it’s time to let it go
-
Every piece in a home should earn its keep—no filler decor
Stick to a neutral, timeless palette to avoid design fatigue
Invest in quality over quantity—better materials, fewer items
Eliminate visual noise (too many colors, competing finishes, excess decor)
-
Protect your time—edit commitments, say no more often
Prioritize quality over excess (experiences, relationships, habits)
Declutter regularly—ask, "When was the last time I even used this?"
Design a morning and evening routine with only the essentials
Ground Your Home, Feed Your Soul
Your home should be a neutral backdrop—a peaceful, calming space that feels timeless. But your life? That’s where the color comes in. Fill your days with vibrant food, experiences, and people who make life richer. Surround yourself with what nourishes you—physically, emotionally, and creatively. Keep your home grounded and your life full of color.
-
Keep interiors neutral and grounding so they feel timeless
Let life bring the color—food, plants, books, art, textiles
Prioritize a kitchen that inspires gathering and nourishment
Design with natural movement in mind—open layouts, inviting spaces
-
Eat whole, colorful foods—your plate should reflect nature
Create colorful experiences—travel, laughter, new perspectives
Surround yourself with people who add richness to your life
Approach wellness as holistic—mind, body, and space
