Peaceful Pines
The Peaceful Pines Project is a sprawling coastal contemporary ranch that blends crisp monochromatic tones with subtle coastal warmth. Throughout the home, thick trim details, clean lines, and a palette of grays, blacks, and whites create a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. Lightly whitewashed and coastal-toned woods add a touch of softness, keeping the space grounded and inviting. Expansive open living areas and thoughtful finishes highlight the home’s airy, retreat-like feel.
While the main spaces lean contemporary and serene, the pool bathroom takes a bold detour—bursting with vibrant color for a playful, unexpected twist. This balance of calm and statement moments makes Peaceful Pines a home that feels both timeless and full of personality.
Designer’s Take
For the Peaceful Pines Project, I had the pleasure of working with a couple relocating from out of state to the Carolinas, ready to create their forever home for retirement.
Their vision leaned heavily into a sleek, contemporary aesthetic—think brushed nickel, shades of gray, and clean, streamlined finishes. It was a step outside my usual wheelhouse, but one I welcomed as a chance to stretch creatively.
The challenge was finding ways to honor their love for modern simplicity while ensuring every space still felt warm, cohesive, and intentional. In the end, the design came together beautifully, and the clients couldn’t have been happier with the result.
Projects like this remind me how much I love the variety—being able to jump between styles and tailor each home to our clients’ unique preferences keeps the work fresh and exciting.
